ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Two people are facing charges after deputies said they were found with a BB gun on the campus of an Alamance County high school.
The Alamance County Sheriff's Office said the staff at Western Alamance High School notified the Sheriff’s Officer School Resource Officer of a car driving erratically in the student parking lot Friday around 8:20 a.m.
Deputies said the SRO attempted to make contact with the people inside of the vehicle, who had pulled into a school parking space.
The driver of the car exited the parking space at a high rate of speed striking a tractor and a pole, which belonged to the Alamance-Burlington School System.
After the crash, with assistance of the school staff, the SRO detained the driver and a passenger of the vehicle.
Deputies found a black BB Pistol in a paddle holster located in the floorboard of the vehicle between the passenger’s legs. A THC vape pen was also found in the car.
The Alamance County Sheriff's Office identified the driver of the vehicle as Nathen Samuel Seger, 18, a former student at Western Alamance High School and passenger Katlin Grace Wilson, 18, who is currently enrolled at Western Alamance High School.
Deputies said both were arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center and taken before a Magistrate.
Seger was charged with the following:
- One count of Misdemeanor Possession of a Weapon on Educational Property
- One count of Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer
- One count of Possession of Schedule VI (THC Vape Pen)
- One count of Citation Reckless Driving
Bond was set at $1,000 unsecured.
Wilson was charged with the following:
One count of Misdemeanor Possession of a Weapon on Educational Property
Wilson has a written promise to appear.
