ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies said two men are facing charges in connection to a drive-by shooting investigation in Alamance County.

The Alamance County Sheriff's Office said they began working with the SBI and Burlington police to find a suspect in a drive-by shooting investigation Wednesday.

Deputies had warrants for Kayden LeCharles Trice, 19, who deputies believed to be involved in a shooting on May 28 on the Spence Street in Burlington.

Deputies learned Trice was at a home on the 700 block of Center Avenue.

Investigators identified themselves to Trice and ordered for him to come out of the house.

Deputies said no one in the home initially followed the commands.

The ACSO Special Response Team responded because deputies believed this to be a high-risk warrant service and the threat of weapons in the home.

Crisis Negotiators were able to get a relative of Trice on the phone with him and have him come out of the house. Trice surrendered without incident.

Deputies learned that an unknown number of  people were still in the home refusing to come out.

Crisis Negotiators contacted the people who eventually surrendered.

Four additional suspects, two of whom were juveniles, exited the home and surrendered without incident.

During the search, investigators located five guns, one of which was stolen and another that had been modified.

Additional items located were a small amount of marijuana and several stolen credit cards. All items were seized.

Trice and Ben Benduce Fayette, 18, were arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Trice was charged with the following:

  • One count of Felony Possession of a weapon of Mass Destruction
  • One count of Felony Possession of Burglary Tools
  • One count of Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm
  • Two counts of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling
  • One count of Misdemeanor Failure to Appear

Trice was denied bond.

Burlington police also charged Trice in connection to a shooting on Vanderbilt Court on April 14 that left 17-year-old girl with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

He is also charged with:

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with Intent to Kill (Felony)
  •  Possession of a Weapon of Mass Death and Destruction (Felony)
  •  Going Armed to the Terror of the Public (Misdemeanor)

These charges to related to the Vanderbilt Court shooting.

Fayette was charged with the following:

  • One count of Felony Possession of a weapon of Mass Destruction
  • One count of Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Fayette's bond was set at $50,000.
