MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — A woman is facing charges after police said she hit multiple people with a car at a business in Mount Airy.
Mount Airy police said they responded to the Walmart at Rockford Street after a driver struck multiple people and then drove away on Dec. 3 around 4:07 p.m.
During the investigation police determined Vilma Huerta, 19, was the driver of the car.
Huerta was arrested.
Huerta is charged with:
- Four counts of attempted murder
- Four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
- Two counts of felony hit-and-run
Huerta is being held at the Surry County Detention Center under no bond.
