WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting involving a teenage boy on Friday in Winston-Salem, police said.
The Winston-Salem Police Department Patrol and Gun Crime Reduction Unit received a call to Danby Court about a shooting. When they arrived, they found a 12-year-old victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Police said the 12-year-old was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said a 15-year-old suspect has since been found. Police said charges are being sought for the teen for his involvement in this investigation.
This investigation is ongoing.
