WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man was injured after a shooting in Winston-Salem Saturday.
Winston-Salem police said they arrived at Salem Gardens Drive around 7:30 a.m. to find Thomas Brown, 35, had been shot.
He was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
After initial investigation, police discovered that an unknown person tried to enter into the apartment that Brown was in when someone shot into the apartment.
Brown was struck while trying to prevent the suspect from entering the apartment.
Police said shortly before the shooting there was an argument or fight in the parking lot in front of the building.
The investigation is ongoing.
