REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Police said a person is in custody after an incident at the Walmart on NC-14 in Reidsville Friday afternoon.
Police said they got a call to the Walmart shortly before 1 p.m. about a person with a gun. RPD said officers arrived and detained the person with a gun in the parking lot. They said no one was injured and no shots were fired.
The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Melford Edison Holloway III. He was charged with assault by pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and going armed to the terror of the public.
Holloway will appear in court on July 16 and was given a $25,000 bond.
Police said the incident stemmed from a confrontation between two patrons.
Police have cleared the scene at this time. Investigators said this was not an active shooter situation.
