1 dead after early morning shooting in Winston-Salem, police say

There is no information yet about a suspect.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — One person has died after a shooting in Winston-Salem on Saturday, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Police said they responded to a report of a shooting on Indiana Avenue at around 5:49 a.m. When police arrived at the scene, they said they found a man with gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services also arrived at the scene.

Jeremy Obrien McClure, 39, died from his injuries, according to police. 

Police said the shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence. 

There is no information yet about a suspect. 

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to the scene and are investigating the shooting.
