18-Year-Old Dead, Another Injured in Reidsville Shooting: Rockingham Co. Sheriff

One 18-year-old is dead and another 18-year-old injured after a shooting in a Reidsville neighborhood.

REIDSVILLE, N.C. -- One 18-year-old is dead and another 18-year-old injured after a shooting in a Reidsville neighborhood.

Rockingham County Sheriff's Office says 911 received a call that a man was shot in the 200 block of Dover Circle. While on the way, deputies learned there was another man shot close by along Clebourne Court.

Deputies say the man near Clebourne Court, Noah Belton, was found dead at his home. A release says Sheriff's Investigators believe Belton had a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The medical examiner hasn't determined an official cause of death yet.

The man from Dover Circle, Dylan Christian, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe Christian and his Dad came to talk to Belton about problems between them. Deputies say Christian left his car to approach the home and Belton shot at him with a shotgun. Christian then got back in his car and left.

Belton was a student at Rockingham County High School. The school has arranged to have grief counselors available today for students.

The investigation is ongoing.
