WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Locked in a dark room with only one candle and up to 12 of your friends, you have 60 minutes to look for clues to get out of The Escape Room.
"This is actually the best date night ever. Because the girls will be jumping in the guy's arms. So it's a score for the guys,” game designer Michael Sullivan said.
He's a Wake Forest grad and used to own a spa. But then he started playing an escape room app on his iPad.
"I thought this would be so much fun to do this in real life. Then I thought if you put actors in there and have a thrill scare overtone, people will pay money to do that!" Sullivan said.
He found similar places already open in Asia. And he decided to bring the Escape Room to North Carolina.

"Communication is the key to this game. If you fail to communicate, you will fail to escape," he said.
Out of about 100 teams to compete so far – four have gotten out. Four.
If you want to try this out, tickets range from $24 to $39 depending on how many friends you have playing.
