FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is organizing efforts to help the school districts and families in western NC affected by the floods caused by Hurricane Helene last week.
Facilities Department members will load heavy equipment and machinery to support Buncombe County Schools on Monday. Four district staff members have volunteered to deploy the equipment to assist in the school recovery efforts.

"Watauga and Buncombe County and other schools throughout the region face a long recovery," McManus said. "Let's show them they are not alone."
During the event, 'Water for Watauga,' community members are asked to bring donations of cases of bottled water to 475 Corporate Square Drive between 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. District employees will load the water onto two activity buses.
