GREENSBORO, N.C. — Thanksgiving is officially two weeks away, but not everyone has access to the resources for a big holiday meal.
That's why food pantries across the Triad are helping make sure everyone has a good Thanksgiving.
We caught up with The Blessed Table Food Pantry who's serving thousands of families in need in the Greensboro community.
Larry Jameson, manager of The Blessed Table Food Pantry, says the pantry has seen double the families in need this year.
"We serve over 4,000 families in Greensboro and in the past two years we have seen more and more families come through the doors and request food," Larry Jameson said.
Jameson said recently the pantry went through a major loss with their freezer which is why they are asking the community for donations ahead of Thanksgiving.
"Our freezer broke down and we lost boxes and boxes of ice-cream in the freezer. We got it fixed but we are still in need of items like canned green beans, pinto beans, and pork and beans," Jameson said.
To donate for families in need, Larry says you can either drop items off or request a pick up of your donated items.
