HIGH POINT, N.C. — United Way of Greater High Point is announcing the return of its 'Gift of Warmth' initiative.
As the holiday season approaches not everyone has access to heating with colder days becoming more frequent.
The 'Gift of Warmth' initiative was created to help care for neighbors in need.
It aims to help give much-needed warmth to individuals and families during the cold winter months.
To participate in the 'Gift of Warmth' initiative you can give $25 to contribute to purchasing a space heater for someone in need.
You can also purchase an honor card in someone's name, signifying your donation of a heater in their honor.
UWGHP is already accepting honor card purchases and donations.
You can make donations and purchase honor cards on UWGHP's website or visit their office located at 815 Phillips Ave. in High Point.
The opportunity to purchase honor cards ends in January.
The first heater donation is scheduled for November 13 at the Salvation Army of High Point at 301 W. Green Drive.
To receive a heater the person must be a resident of High Point, Archdale, Trinity, or Jamestown and have a heating emergency.
Identification is also required.
