GREENSBORO, N.C. — Pickleball is coming to downtown Greensboro!
Downtown Greensboro, Inc. announced the first-ever Downtown Pickleball Party and Tournament, scheduled for May 4th and 5th. The event promises two days of pickleball excitement in the heart of downtown Greensboro.
"Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country, and we're thrilled to bring the community together right here in Downtown Greensboro to enjoy America's new favorite pastime," President of Downtown Greensboro, Inc., Zack Matheny said. "In addition to a weekend of fun and competition, this event will be a great way to further activate our city center."
May 4th
Saturday, May 4th kicks off with a free Pickleball party, designed to introduce newcomers to the sport and foster community engagement. Attendees can grab their paddles, team up with friends, and enjoy a day of friendly matches and festivities.
May 5th
On Sunday, May 5th, the competition heats up with the pay-to-enter Pickleball Tournament, offering a platform for players with a competitive edge to showcase their skills and go for victory.
Spectators and players can enjoy cold local brews, delicious bites from food trucks, and the opportunity to cheer on their favorite teams. Attendees are encouraged to explore downtown, where various local businesses will be offering special pickleball-themed promotions and experiences.
