NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Several childcare facilities in North Carolina could close as we head into the summer season due to the pandemic-era funding set to run its course.
The State Department of Health and Human Services says over 275 facilities closed in 2023.
Now leaders are saying it is harder for families to find child care. State lawmakers are expected to take up the issue before the end of June with a possible bill to increase state funds.
