'It takes so much more' | Triad Miss Title Holders share their journey to the crown

Miss Thomasville, Miss Central Carolina, and Miss Davidson County talk about the importance of community service amidst competing to be crowned Miss North Carolina.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — You won't catch these beauty queens sleeping in on a lazy day.

These young ladies are hard at work in their communities.

WFMY News 2 caught up with Miss Triad Title Holders in the Miss Thomasville, Miss Central Carolina, and Miss Davidson County Organization as they prepare to compete in the Miss North Carolina 2024.

Taylor Foley, Miss Thomasville said her motto is 'S.M.I.L.E.' – Sharing Moments, Inspiring, & Loving Elders, which is why she is an advocate for elderly care in her community. She shares her biggest piece of advice for girls looking to go into pageants.

"I think really the greatest wins in my life have just been through all of the moments and experiences. So, my biggest advice is to continue pursuing your dreams and enjoy the ride," Foley said.

Keelie Jones, Miss Central Carolina, has her own non-profit organization called Crying Out Loud which promotes mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

"I own and operate my own non-profit focused on mental health. It's called Crying Out Loud and it stemmed from my own personal struggles with my mental health but also having close friends who battled with their mental health, which is really important to spread awareness about," Jones said.

Tori Gross, Miss Davidson County, is an advocate for blood donation and promoting the stories of blood transfusion recipients.

"I started competing in pageants when I was four, and then through the Miss America Organization, I was able to be in the mentorship for three years. I learned so much and it really inspired me to be who and where I am today," Gross said.

All three beauty queens will be competing for the title of Miss North Carolina right here in the Triad at the High Point Theatre on June 24, followed by the crowning of Miss North Carolina on June 29.
