GREENSBORO, N.C. - Tornado survivors have a place to turn for hot meals thanks to groups that are organizing to provide for their community.
Multiple churches, businesses, and volunteer groups are providing free meals to families affected by Sunday's tornado.
Several churches and organizations have stepped up along with #2Cares, volunteering throughout the week to help victims.
Here's a list of places providing free meals and services in northeast Greensboro to help tornado victims in the coming days.
- City of Greensboro Disaster Relief at Willow Oaks Community Center, 1815 Everitt St., Greensboro, NC 27401 (9 am – 7 pm)
- Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 1301 Alamance Church Road, Greensboro, NC 27406 (8 am – 7 pm)
- New Jerusalem Cathedral at 1606 Phillips Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 (24 hrs)
- New Light Baptist Church at 1105 Willow Rd, Greensboro, NC 27401 (7:30 am – 9 pm)
- East Market Street Seventh-Day Adventist – Saturday, April 21, (2:30 pm – 3:45 pm) at Food Lion: 2316 E. Market St.
- The Ghassan's food truck will be at McGirt Library (2501 Phillips Ave.) today from 1:30 to 3:30 serving free lunch to those affected by the tornado.
- Kim's Catering is serving hot dogs and accepting perishable food as donations from noon to 4 p.m. at the intersection of McConnell Road and Moody St. in Greensboro.
- Headquarters of A Church Without Walls (207 S. Westgate Dr. Greensboro, phone # 336 854-5955) is offering counseling services and assistance with finding transitional housing.
- Sharpe Road Church of Christ (2400 Sharpe Road, Greensboro) is giving out shoes, toiletries, water and more. Will be out Saturday afternoon until 6 p.m. and Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.
The Headquarters of A Church Without Walls is serving meals on the following dates:
- Monday, April 23, 2018 7 - 9 pm
- Wednesday, April 26, 2018 7 - 9 pm
- Sunday, April 29, 2018 3 - 5 pm
