City holding meeting to discuss Bingham Park

The park sits on top of a landfill that dates back to the 1950s.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — We could soon learn about Greensboro's plan for cleaning up a contaminated park in East Greensboro.

Right now, Bingham Park is closed because it has contaminated soil.

The park sits on top of a landfill that dates back to the 1950s. This can be very dangerous to folks living near the park and those who go there often. We spoke with neighbors who say they are happy something is being done to protect everyone.

The city hosting a meeting to talk about possible solutions on Wednesday, June 12 at 6 p.m. It's going to be at the Peeler Recreation Center.
