GREENSBORO, N.C. — Toyota said they are actively looking for thousands of workers to run their Greensboro- Randolph mega site. Saturday morning dozens lined up for a hiring event.
It was held at Evangel Fellowship Church on Cone Boulevard.
Toyota's nearly $14 billion dollar investment creates jobs for about 5,000 people. A
Toyota talent analyst said some of the job openings include: production, HR, and engineering.
"People are really excited about that. The opportunity for them and their families goes beyond the Triad area," recruiter Allen Davis said.
He said there is plenty of room for growth and opportunities in the Triad.
"It's not every day that a company this size comes to this area and brings jobs," Davis said.
The new mega site in Liberty covers nearly 1,850 acres. Toyota told us the site will produce batteries for it's hybrid and electric vehicles.
Toyota said they plan on hosting additional hiring events early next year. Company leaders previously told WFMY News 2 they are on track to start producing batteries in early 2025.
