ARCHDALE, N.C. — Axium Packaging is a plastic packaging manufacturer for multinational consumer product companies. The company announced the opening of the first NC location in Archdale.
The opening of the company's $36 million state-of-the-art manufacturing plant will help serve its growing client base in the region, while bringing new jobs and economic opportunity to the local community.
"We are excited about the growth opportunities North Carolina provides, and we know that becoming a part of the region's advanced manufacturing community is an important next step in our expansion," said Paul Judge, technology, operations, president of Axium Packaging. "Axium's ability to serve our nearby customers quickly and efficiently from this plant, while introducing unique technology, operations and new sustainable solutions to the manufacturing industry, puts us in an excellent position to deliver best-in class packaging solutions here and across the region."
The new manufacturing facility, located about 15 miles southwest of Greensboro, utilizes the latest rigid plastic manufacturing technologies and includes a uniform platform found across its 20 facilities.
This gives Axium the ability to replicate or increase production where needed, and to expand into other packaging technologies that meet unique future customer demands.
"I'm excited to welcome Axium to North Carolina's advanced packaging manufacturing community and about the jobs and opportunities the company brings to the region," North Carolina State Senator David Craven, Jr. said. "Randolph County and the state have a concentrated supply chain, product development excellence, packaging and logistics expertise, with a talented research infrastructure and job training system that will also support Axium's long-term growth strategy."
Axium customers include domestic and international product companies across a range of customer categories, including personal and home cleaning supplies, food, pharmaceutical, health care and nutrition products commonly found on store shelves, in homes and in businesses across the globe.
