Another Old Greensboro Mill Set For A Makeover

The company that worked on Revolution Mill is back. They're reworking a mill on Oakland Avenue.

The builders behind the Revolution Mill makeover are taking on another renovation project in Greensboro. This time it's at the old mill on Oakland Avenue. Crews started the transformation this week. They've been preparing the new project over the last month.

CT Wilson Construction is in charge of the work. The architect says 174 apartments will go inside. It's a $22 million dollar project that they can't wait to complete.

"It's great to be able to come into these old mills, tear them apart, see the old construction and then rebuild them from the ground up into something," project manager Chris Greenway said, "It's been something we've really enjoyed."

The old mill was built in 1926. They used to make hosiery there. The mill shut down in 1999. The renovation should be finished in early 2020.
