GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro product brokerage company, Market America Worldwide, helped round out National Nurse Appreciation Week in a big way.
As a way of saying 'thank you,' the company delivered close to 1,000 'pamper you' gift bags to nurses at Moses Cone Tuesday afternoon.
"I'm sure they're all exhausted, they're tired and I was like, I just want to give them something they can take home and pamper themselves with," Market America Worldwide President & COO Marc Ashley said.
Ashley said it was the least he could do for all the 'superheroes' on the front lines.
"Right now they're married to work, they're married to taking care of everyone else so we wanted to take care of them a little."
The bags included bath and shower gels, skin care products, cosmetic palettes, and more.
"This was definitely a morale booster for the nurses that have been working so hard I think it was great," Tammy Caviness said. "We are so appreciative."
Ashley said this was a way to show gratitude to the extraordinary nurses who continue to fight against COVID-19.
"We can't even imagine what they're going through."
As grateful as the nurses were, they know the greatest gift, is the gift of health.
"We appreciate the recognition but for us the satisfaction is when our patients are well and able to go home to their families, that is the actual gift that we really value more than anything," Caviness explained.
The 'pamper you' gift bags were also delivered to Wesley Long Hospital and the Green Valley Campus.
National Nurses Week lasts from May 6-12.
