STALEY, N.C. — A fight between two workers Tuesday morning led to a stabbing at the Discount Box and Pallet company in Staley.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said one of the employees picked up a box cutter and stabbed the other worker. Nicholas Paul Cervone was stabbed in his abdomen. Justin Ray Locklear was also cut on his left shoulder.
Locklear was arrested and has been charged with Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Misdemeanor Simple Affray. He’s in the Randolph County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond.
Cervone is being treated at a hospital and has an outstanding Criminal Summons for Misdemeanor Assault Inflicting Serious Injury and Misdemeanor Simple Affray as a result of the cut to Locklear’s left shoulder.
Investigators said another worker was injured while trying to break up the fight but refused treatment.
