As consumers are planning out their Black Friday shopping, retailers are doing the same. Black Friday has been dubbed the single busiest shopping day of the year.
So if you want to make the best of your shopping day, the Better Business Bureau has some tips to make your experience productive, and maybe even enjoyable!
1. Learn about advertising tricks and gimmicks
Beware if schemes and cons. Some tips are to avoid advertisements that say it is the "best in the world", sales that say "today only", and saying that they will beat any competitors price.
Also make sure that you read the fine print of an ad, there could be information that proves the ad is misleading.
2. Do your research
Make sure you are looking around before you commit to buying a product from one store. Look at customer reviews, and compare prices between stores.
Keep an eye out for "flash sales", they come and go fast!
3. Read the fine print
If you have a coupon, or are looking at that big sign on the door that says 70% off, make sure you are reading the fine print. This might tell you that you can only get the deal during a certain time frame, or it may apply to only one item.
4. Know the advertiser
You might see the best deal online, but be careful. It can be a website mimicking a company, so make sure you are shopping from the real deal.
5. Sign-up for email alerts
Many stores and retailers will release their BEST sales to people who have signed-up to be on their emailing list.
Once again, just make sure they are reputable dealers, and not scammers.
Overall, make sure that you are smart and safe with your purchases
