RALEIGH, N.C. – A North Carolina woman says she’s living a dream after winning $1 million playing the lottery.
Pauline Bordes of Lillington said it’s almost, “too good to be true.”
“I have these dreams where something wonderful happens, and then I wake up,” said Bordes.
“I kept saying, all day long, ‘I hope I don’t wake up.’”
Bordes won playing the Ultimate Millions second-chance drawing earlier this month. Bordes said, “I can definitely say that the North Carolina lottery has changed my life.”
She took home the lump sum of $415,500 after taxes. Bordes plans to buy her own home instead of renting, and to help pay for her grandson’s college education.
