Piedmont Triad International Airport's growth continues to take off. With work going on for Boom Supersonics' 400,000-square-foot facility to build high-speed jets.
And Honda Jet committing to build corporate jets on the site.
That's more than 2,000 jobs by 2030 and more people moving to the area.
The open land near PTI could in the next few years be a premiere spot for housing developments.
Realtor Wrenchel Stokes said housing near PTI went from being a hard sale to lots of interest.
"As the jobs grew so did the concern for housing and all those stimulants about air traffic and planes flying all went away," Stokes said. "The jobs definitely grow the market."
Greensboro City Council voted on two resolutions asking state lawmakers for money when their session starts in April.
One is for $7 million for a new fire station and another $5 million for water and sewage to service the airport area.
The city said they will both help the city support the growth at PTI.
Both were approved unanimously.
Stokes said although the city is taking steps to prepare there is concern over available land for housing.
"Between the new belt line and Bryan blvd I don't know if there are enough larger tracks of land that will attract larger builders because a lot of it has already been developed," Stokes said. "They're looking for 40 plus to 100 plus acres in order to build the planned unit development. They could have anywhere from 80-150 houses."
Adding to the growing development in an area that's just taking off.
