Trader Joe's Mexicali Salad Recalled

Trader Joe's is recalling its Mexicali Inspired Salad with Chili Seasoned Chicken for undeclared wheat.

The company says the product was sold in seven states including South Carolina. The product has the SKU 97216 and a BEST BY date codes from 05/18/16 through 07/03/16 on the package.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

No adverse reactions have been reported to date.

The Salad's top label is correct, but the incorrect back label neglects to include soy sauce as an ingredient; the source of the wheat. Trader Joe's is working closely with the vendor to immediately correct and prevent packaging errors of this nature.

You are asked to throw the salad away or return for a full refund.

If you have any questions, you may call Trader Joe's Customer Relations at (626) 599-3817 [Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Pacific Time]
