'Everyone needs a will.' How to get a free one through Second Harvest Food Bank & FreeWill.com

'Part of the benefits of creating a will are bringing peace of mind, providing for the people that matter most to you in your life, but also meeting your goals.'

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Got kids?

Got life insurance or retirement money?

Got a bank account?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need a will. Chances are, you don't have one.

According to a study by Caring.com and data from SeniorLiving.org, only 32% of Americans have a will. And 52% of people know their parents have a will, but don't know where to look for it if something happens.

Among other designations, August is also Make-A-Will month. If you're worried about cost,  there's a way you can do your will for free.

"The FreeWill platform is a great online, secure, easy way to build a will. It helps you guide you through building a legal will.  You can create a will within 30 minutes and it's a legal will," said Carolyn Breese, VP of Philanthropy & Community Engagement for Second Harvest of NWNC.

Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC  is partnering up with FreeWill.com. The hope is, that you will get your will taken care of and think of Second Harvest in your estate planning.

"Part of the benefits of creating a will is bringing peace of mind, not only providing for the people that matter most to you in your life, your family members, and friends but also meeting your goals for your philanthropic initiatives and priorities. And people that choose to um invest in Second Harvest Food Bank are creating a legacy that will create long-term impact," said Breese.

If you already have a will and would like to add Second Harvest of NWNC to it, the organization can help with that:
