High Point Company Recalls Over 600 Chests Due to Tip-Over Hazard

Home Meridian International says the three-drawer Mid-Century chests are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point company is recalling about 640 chest of drawers.

Home Meridian International says the chests can tip over if they aren't anchored to the wall, causing harm to children that could result in injuries or death.

The recall involves the Mid-Century three-drawer accent chests in a brown finish (model DS-D146-002) or a white finish (model DS-D146-005). The chests have six copper-colored drawer pulls. The model number can be found on a label on the back of the furniture.

The chests were sold online at Wayfair.com, Amazon.com, BedBathandBeyond.com and other online retailers from March 2017 through June 2019 for about $250.

No injuries or accidents have been reported.

Consumers can contact Home Meridian at 800-819-4796 for a free tip-over restraint kit, or a prepaid shipping label to mail in the drawer slides for a full refund.
