J.Crew & Eddie Bauer closed stores at Friendly Center in Greensboro

The 2 stores closed recently, but the Friendly Center says there are already new businesses that will fill their storefronts.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Two national retail stores have closed up shop at the Friendly Center in Greensboro.

A center spokesperson told us J. Crew and Eddie Bauer closed within the last week.

It's not clear why they closed.

Sarah Kotelnicki, marketing director of Friendly Center and Winston-Salem's Hanes Mall for owner CBL and Associates Properties, said CBL had no comment on the stores' decision. 

Those spaces already have new tenants ready to move in.

Aerie, a lingerie store will move into the Eddie Bauer spot next to the Banana Republic.

Dry Goods, a women's clothing store will replace J. Crew next to Madewell. 

A third store, Versona, which is a women's fashion boutique will move in next to AT&T. 

They should all be open in the next couple of months.
