WILKES COUNTY, N.C. — Provalus, an information technology company outsourcing firm, has picked Wilkes County as the new site of its "Center for Excellence," according to a press release from the governor's office.
The establishment of the Center for Excellence will create 150 jobs and bring over $1 million in investment to North Wilkesboro, the company said. The average salary for the new jobs will be $45,852, consistent with the county average of $45,819.
“Establishing our second North Carolina Center of Excellence in North Wilkesboro is a meaningful step forward in our mission to create opportunities that revitalize rural American communities,” said Mike Keogh, President of Provalus. “This expansion allows us to tap into the region’s exceptional talent, fostering job creation and economic growth that will benefit both the local community and the broader region. We’re proud to deepen our roots in North Carolina and invest in the potential of this remarkable area.”
According to the press release, the One North Carolina Fund gave Provalus a $150,000 grant to help facilitate the project.
Provalus' other site in North Carolina is located in Columbus County.
“North Carolina offers exceptionally talented workers in all parts of our state, and it’s great to see a company like Provalus recognize this strength in Wilkes County,” said North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper. “Companies know they can count on the state’s highly regarded education and workforce training systems to provide the talent they need to be successful.”
