Traders work on the floor at the closing bell of the Dow Industrial Average at the New York Stock Exchange on January 11, 2018.

Concerns about the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 and the havoc it could cause for supply chains and workforces sent the U.S. stock markets tumbling last week.
