How to overcome your fears and go for your dreams

Today is All or Nothing Day. We spoke to an expert who shares what it takes to take that leap of faith.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Today is It's All or Nothing Day, a day dedicated to encouraging people to take risks and pursue their dreams with total commitment. Some people hesitate to go all in on their goals for different reasons. Fear is a common reason that might hold you back - fear of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of disappointment. You might want to play it safe because it feels more comfortable. But comfort doesn't lead to extraordinary results. It's also about limiting beliefs. You might think they're not capable of achieving their biggest dreams, so they settle for less. Others worry about other people's opinions.

Going all in brings a focus and determination that's hard to match. Committing fully makes you more likely to overcome obstacles and find creative solutions. It also boosts your confidence and resilience.

You might wonder how you know when it's the right time to go all in. There might not be a clear sign to jump all in. One possibility is that there might be a balance of passion and preparation. If you're deeply passionate about something and you've done your research and laid the groundwork, it might be time to dive in. Other times, you might just have to jump in and figure it out as you go. Remember, going all in doesn't mean risking everything. It means being fully invested in your goals.
