Greensboro bookstore requires proof of vaccination for customers who are wining and dining indoors

You'll have to provide proof of vaccination if you want to eat or have a glass of wine while inside Scuppernong Books.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Scuppernong Books is an independently owned book store in downtown Greensboro.

This hidden gem is a one-stop-shop, offering a variety of literature, wine, and food from the surrounding restaurants.

Recently its team announced masks are once again required in the store, and if you want to eat or drink inside. You're going to have to show proof of vaccination.

Scuppernong Books is a small bookstore in downtown Greensboro.

According to co-owner Steve Mitchell, the store is going to do whatever it takes to protect its customers.

"Saturday we will start requiring proof of vaccination for the people who want to eat or drink in the store. Not for everyone that comes in, but just the ppl who will be eating or drinking because they'll have to take their mask off."

So what we wanted to know is, how is verification going to take place? Well, Steve has the answer for that too.

"So you can have the card itself, you can have a picture of the card on your phone. There are also some apps that ppl use when they travel that proves their vaccination status. so any of those things are fine and will work."

We also wanted to know, how have customers reacted to the implementation of this new policy? The answer just might shock you.

"Overwhelmingly positive. So I think that a lot of ppl understand that we're just trying to make it safe for people to come to the store."

Again, this policy begins at Scuppernong's Books this Saturday, August 7th.
