GREENSBORO, N.C. — Today, we're taking a moment to explore the concept of prayer and its role in people's lives. Whether you have a specific faith or not, the idea of a higher power and the act of prayer holds significance for many.
People pray for many reasons: for guidance, for comfort, and for gratitude. It's a way of expressing our deepest needs and hopes, particularly when we don't quite know where else to turn.
Research suggests prayer can have real benefits. It can lower stress, promote feelings of peace, and foster a sense of connection to something larger than us.
Life experiences can shape our need for prayer. There might be reasons that someone might be discovering or rediscovering prayer as an adult vs as a child. Some people may not have seen the need or benefit when they were young. Or, perhaps, they didn't think that prayer could help them for whatever reason. Some people stopped praying because of something terrible that happened in their lives, and then they decided to rediscover prayer. And now, they find solace in prayer during difficult times. Prayer is a personal journey for no one to judge. Prayer is a conversation with whatever you believe in, a way to find strength and meaning in the world.
