Tips for calming nerves about hosting gatherings

Hosting a gathering can be a lot. Body language expert Blanca Cobb explains how to get over nerves surrounding it.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — We've all been there. You're excited to have friends over, but then the doubts creep in. You begin to wonder and feel insecure about whether you're a good host. Today, we're talking about ways to host confidently, even when doubt creeps in.

Common concerns about hosting include not having a Pinterest-perfect decorated home, hidden clutter before a closed door that someone might open, and cooking abilities. No one wants to be judged when they're hosting a gathering at their home.

A great way to overcome these hosting insecurities is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for your guests. Lights some candles, play some music, and offer comfortable seating. And remember this: your guests care more about connection than perfection. It's about making your guests feel comfortable and appreciated.

Food doesn't have to be Michelin-star. Offer a mix of store-bought and homemade goodies. As long as the food is delicious, almost everyone will be happy.
