Should Parents Kiss Their Kids On The Lips?

The controversy about kissing your kids on their lips.

Welcome to the world of Beckham where David and Victoria kiss their kids on the lips. Despite what the internet has to say about it. The most recent photo David Beckham posted with 7-year-old daughter, Harper, got the most attention. Among the comments, "this isn't appropriate." "She's your daughter, why are you kissing her on the lips?"

Of course, some people stuck up for Beckham. Saying it was a beautiful moment between father and daughter. That conversation was online.

Kissing is a sign of affection. Lip kissing isn't automatically romantic. Some people interpret lip kissing as romantic/sexual and that's the controversy. It's culturally acceptable in some countries.

A drawback of lip kissing that holds true for anyone is that germs such as cold, flu, cold sores are transmitted through lip kissing.

When your kids start pulling back and showing or telling you that lip kissing makes them uncomfortable then stop. Check kissing might be the way to go if your kids are ok with it.
