ASHEBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina Zoo announced the name of its second baby rhino born this summer.

"Bonnie" was born on Friday, July 13. She was one of two rhinos born within just 11 days of each other at the zoo.

She was born to mother Kit and father Stormy.

The NC Zoo announces the name of its second baby Rhino born this summer -- Bonnie!

Zookeepers named her Bonnie in honor of longtime zoo donors and supporters. The donors wish to remain anonymous, but expressed their gratitude to the NC Zoo.

Bonnie is on habitat with the rest of her herd, including her half-sister Nandi who was born July 2.
