Cooper's Christmas Balls return to Sunset Hills neighborhood

Cooper Dunning started working on the displays back in 2019.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro's Sunset Hills Neighborhood is known for its unique holiday decorations, and five years later, one Guilford County Schools student has been making them all!

Cooper Dunning is delivering holiday cheer across the city with Cooper's Christmas Balls, simultaneously he's raising money to help those in need.

Dunning started making Christmas balls in 2019 when he was 10 years old, hoping to impact his community.

Every year, he's seen the demand increase across the Triad.

He's looking back at his work — and still amazed himself.

"I think it's weird to think about that I've been making them for about a 3rd of my life. That kind of puts it into perspective but it started with my dad. We put up 60 in our huge tree, so I've [kind of] always been a little entrepreneurial; I've just kept with it."

Dec. 16 is the last day Dunning will be accepting orders.
He hopes he can reach a new goal of a thousand Christmas balls.
