Winston-Salem Man Acts Like Real-Life Santa, Donates Washer & Dryer to Elderly Woman

Kathy Emig is disabled and was having trouble getting to the laundry room on the other side of her apartment complex.

A Winston-Salem man is spreading Christmas joy.

"I like to say Santa has his elves and I've got a whole army of people behind me that make this work every year for a lot of folks."

For the past six years, Eric Farmer and his real estate company have accepted nominations for people in need.

They pick a few deserving people every year.

78-year-old Kathy Emig of Kernersville is one of them.

Kathy is disabled. She was having trouble getting to the laundry room on the other side of her apartment complex.

So Eric gave her a brand new washer and dryer!

The appliances arrived at Kathy's apartment today.

She couldn't believe it when she got the call.

"He said, well, guess what, you're getting one. And I go, what!!! I started crying I was so excited."

Eric says he's spent $10,000 over the years on donations for strangers, and it's worth every penny.
