KING, N.C. — A Stokes County construction company purchased all 65 Christmas trees at the Food Lion at NC-66 in King on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
The owner of Stokes Concrete and Construction Works, Crystal Lawson, said the trees were meant for families in King that can't afford one of their own.
"Hopefully those trees went to families in need, there were 65 of them and hopefully we were able to get 65 trees to families in need," said Lawson.
This was meant to memorialize client Rober Miller, the first client the company had to receive their contractor's license. They wanted to show how much he meant to the company.
"Makes me feel good that we had a community to support our business throughout the year and that we were able to give away to help a child or anyone in a home to help to go ahead and get their Christmas tree started for the holiday season, " said Lawson.
