GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's Children's Day. This morning, we're talking about why it's crucial to recognize the significance of children and why this day is important.
Children's Day is important to recognize children as individuals with thoughts, feelings, and ideas of their own. You empower them to become confident and capable adults by giving them a platform to express themselves.
If you, as a parent, spend time with your child, it allows you to understand their needs, interests and concerns better. It strengthens the bond between parents and children. When parents and children have a solid emotional connection, working through problems is easier.
Parents may not realize the long-lasting impact of their words and actions on their children. Children get their confidence, self-esteem, and resilience in part from their parents. Even when kids have problems at school and with friends, their parents are their most significant source of comfort, influence, and support. When children feel like they have a parent on their side, they feel like they can conquer the world.
