Husband mourns losing wife days after celebrating 10th anniversary

Felicia Turrentine-Daniel, the owner of 'Chef's Delite' died after her car ran off the road Monday night.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Jason Daniel shared photos of him and his wife's vow renewal during their 10th  anniversary in Key West.

"I'm happy that we had this opportunity but I'm sad she's no longer here," Daniel said.

The day they returned to Greensboro the unexpected happened.

Daniel got a call that his wife Felica crashed at the intersection of Holden Road and West Florida Street Monday.

Greensboro police said she went through the intersection and ran off the road hitting a tree and guy wire.

"I rushed up to the hospital and unfortunately learned she didn't survive," Daniel said. "That is the hardest challenge to deal with in life. The loss of my wife and best friend the person I looked forward to spending the rest of my life with. "

And the Triad community looked forward to continuing to eat Felicia's meals cooked with love.

She did many features on the WFMY Good Morning Show sharing her famous dishes.

"I worshiped her on Sunday mornings on WFMY for her cooking segments," said Leann Benoit a fan and friend of Felicia's.

She was popular all over the state for her food truck "Chef Delite" which people would drool over at the state fair.

"The chickenater was a hit," Daniel said. "A lot of people were like I've got to have that."

"The first time I met her I was like a giggly little fan," Benoit said.

Benoit said she's been a fan of Felicia's for years and was mind-blown when she made a vegan cake for her daughter's birthday.

"It was a beautiful cake that was just the start of it," Benoit said. "It tasted so good."

It's hard for both Daniel and Leann to fully believe Felicia's gone.

"There's no way this woman could mean so much to so many and be gone in a heartbeat," LeAnn said. "It was difficult. I dissolved into a puddle of tears."

Daniel said he'll have the fresh memories made during their anniversary to hold on to and the business that's been a staple for two decades.

"She would want me to continue the business and legacy and I have to let her legacy live," Daniel said. "She touched a lot of lives."

Daniel said his wife had heart issues for years and had a heart pump which helped her heart improve its function by 25%.

As for the investigation, police said they're not certain why the car went off the road.
