REIDSVILLE, N.C. — A K9 from Reidsville Police Department is receiving a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a donation.

K9 Holly's vest was donated by the non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. It has provided over 5,600 vests to K9s in all 50 states since it was created in 2009.

The potentially lifesaving body armor is U.S. made, custom fitted, and NIJ certified. Her vest will be embroidered with "In honor of Chief Ray Gibson".

It is expected to be delivered within eight to ten weeks.
