THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A remarkable rescue dog named Doc has joined the Thomasville Fire & Rescue, as a therapy dog.

Rescued and donated by Forgotten, Now Family Rescue, Doc brings an extraordinary story of transformation from abandoned to advocate.

Trained at K9 Responder Academy, Doc is believed to be the first rescue dog specifically trained as a fire department therapy dog in the state.

Doc will provide emotional support to firefighters, neighboring emergency services, and the community. Whether comforting first responders after tough calls or offering solace to those affected by traumatic events, Doc is here to serve.

From an abandoned past to a critical role in emergency services, Doc represents hope, resilience, and the incredible potential of rescue animals. His journey proves that second chances can lead to extraordinary purposes.
