Endangered tigers are thriving at the Greensboro Science Center

Rocky and Jaggar are the latest addition.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The rare and endangered Sumatran tigers are doing well at the Greensboro Science Center.

Keepers gave us an up close look at the beautiful animals and talked a little about their history and the plight of the species.

There are only 400 or so Sumatran tigers estimated to be alive in the wild. They attribute the dwindling numbers to construction and development in their natural habitat.

The two came to Greensboro form the Jacksonville Zoo and have done very well in acclimating to the new living space.

Keepers say one day they may actually try to breed the tigers but for now these two brothers share the exhibit.
