GREENSBORO, N.C. — A local shag dancing competition honors a shag champion from right here in the piedmont who passed away several years ago. Now, in her honor, professional shaggers, novice and junior dancers compete to raise money for a scholarship named for her. Eric Chilton has the story of Beth Mitchell and how the tight knit beach music community is helping to make a difference.
Shag competition comes to the Triad this weekend.
