Lexington man donates 100 masks to foster care advocates

Ben Davis said volunteers only get two masks from the state and he knew it wouldn't be enough.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — A Lexington man is doing his part to make sure others have access to masks.

Ben Davis with City Electric Supply donated 100 masks to the Guardian Ad Litem program.

Volunteers with the program advocate for children as they go through the state's foster care system.

Davis said volunteers only get two masks from the state and he knew it wouldn't be enough.

"We are trying to help prevent the spread of COVID.  When [the volunteers] go back to court and everything like that everyone needs to be wearing the mask in there. We are having to wear them everywhere else. We've got to try and help prevent the spread. So let's get them out there to people that are doing good for our kids and stuff," Davis said.

Davis said he's working on providing masks for other organizations in the community.
