Jimmy Buffett's classic Ford is up for sale in Greensboro

The Greensboro Auto Auction's Classic Car Auction is this weekend with a car from the late Jimmy Buffett's personal collection.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Parrotheads unite! You have a chance at landing one of the best pieces of Jimmy Buffett memorabilia anywhere. This weekend the Greensboro Auto Auction is hosting its Classic Car Auction Thursday through Saturday and one of the featured pieces in a car from Buffett's personal collection.

"He bought this car in the early 2000s," said GAA director Johnny Ransom, "And it's a 1963 Ford Falcon Sprint. He did some modifications to it but rumor has it that it was kept in Florida and you would see Jimmy riding around Key West in this car."

The car also comes with the title which has Jimmy Buffett's signature on it and if that wasn't enough how about a guitar?

"Believe it or not there's a signed guitar from Jimmy Buffett that comes with the car. The previous owner said he gave it to him when he bought it so he's throwing that in as well," continued Ransom, "And if you look inside you can see a modification that Jimmy made. It's a roll bar under the convertible top. This was so Jimmy could place his surfboard on it when he drove it to the beach."

The GAA Classic Car auction is from February 22 through the 24th. Tickets are $20 for general admission. Their website is https://www.gaaclassiccars.com/
