GREENSBORO, N.C. — Academy Sports and Outdoors teamed up with Greensboro Police and the United Way of Greater Greensboro to donate 60 new bicycles and helmets to kids.
The bikes were given to schools as a way to reward kids for perfect attendance, academic performance and good behavior.
"We're so appreciative of this any time of year, but especially at Christmas," said Brad Huffstetler with Guilford Child Development. "You know our families have a hard time during the year, and when Christmas rolls around it's especially hard for them to provide for their family and get that little extra something for the children."
