Who's Turning 75 - Week of Aug. 29

As WFMY News 2 celebrates turning 75, we're also celebrating the 75th birthdays of people in our community who are also turning 75.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — This month, WFMY News 2 turned 75 and we want to celebrate our viewers who are also turning 75!

First up today is Janis! Janis turned 75 on August 26th. She taught at Dudley High School for 39 years and is a former Guilford County Schools Teacher of the Year. Janis and her husband Philip enjoy cruising and spending time with her grandchildren. Happy birthday Janis.

Happy 75th to Ruth! She turned 75 on August 27th. She has been married for 55 years and has 2 adult children, and five grandkids. One of those grandkids is WFMY News 2 photojournalist Ramar! Ruth loves singing, gardening and baking and working out at the Smith Active Adult Center. She loves spreading love, hope and joy and encouraging others. Happy birthday Ruth.

Happy birthday to Glenda! She turns 75 August 29! Glenda is also a retired educator who worked for Guilford County Schools for 42 years. Now she enjoys exercising at the Y, participating in church activities and volunteering in her community. Happy 75th birthday Glenda!

Last but not least is Elizabeth! She turns 75 August 30th! Her family says this Greensboro resident makes the best deviled eggs and lime green punch! Happy birthday Elizabeth! We hope you and all the others turning 75 have a great birthday!
